Brigadier General John Gosdin, USAR-Ret

BG John M. Gosdin, USAR-Ret ended 33 years of military service in 1997. Commissioned in the Corps of Engineers, he spent his entire career with Army engineer units. He commanded two companies, a battalion, as well as serving as Assistant Corps Engineer for III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas. During this assignment, he had engineer mission planning and coordination responsibilities for numerous NATO and SOUTHCOM engineering exercises.

He culiminated his career as Commanding General, 420th Engineer Brigade, headquartered In Bryan, Texas. Four of the Brigade's units deployed and served with high commendation in Desert Storm during the Gulf War.

In 2007 BG Gosdin retired from the Lower Colorado River Authority in Austin, Texas after serving in a variety of natural resource conservation and park management positions.

He is a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.S. and Masters Degrees) and earned his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin (Business Management). He and his wife Jan reside in Austin, and have 2 sons.
